ERP Modules Explained

What each ERP module does, what it connects to and who needs it — so you can scope your system sensibly.

In short

An ERP module is one functional area of an ERP system — such as accounting, inventory, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, HR and payroll, CRM, projects or point of sale. Modules share one database, so a sale updates stock and accounts automatically. Start with the modules that fix your biggest pain, then add others as you grow.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which ERP modules should a small business start with?

Most start with accounting, sales, purchasing and inventory, then add HR and payroll or CRM. A good implementation phases modules so staff adopt each one before the next.

Do all modules share the same data?

Yes. That is the point of an ERP: one customer, item and ledger record used everywhere, so nothing is typed twice.

Can I add modules later?

Yes. Odoo and ERPNext are modular, and custom systems are built to be extended. We plan the data model so later modules fit cleanly.

Do I need a module for every department?

No. Only implement what removes real pain. Unused modules add training and maintenance without benefit.

Is payroll included?

HR and payroll are available on all three routes. We add WPS bank-file output and Omanization reporting for Oman.

Can modules be customised?

Yes. Standard modules can be configured, and where needed we build custom modules that extend them without breaking upgrades.
