ERP for Manufacturing Companies in Oman & the GCC

Plan production, control material cost and trace every batch — in one system built around how Omani factories actually run.

  • Odoo
  • ERPNext
  • Custom ERP
In short

A manufacturing ERP for Oman connects sales orders, bills of materials, production planning, purchasing, stock and costing so a factory always knows what to make, what to buy and what each unit really costs. FizMoh implements it on Odoo, ERPNext or a custom platform, with Oman VAT, OMR three-decimal accounting and Arabic documents built in.

Overview

Overview: ERP for Manufacturing

Most factories in Oman's industrial estates start on spreadsheets and a basic accounting package. It works until the second shift, the third product line or the first big export order — then nobody can say what is in stock, which work order is late or what a batch cost to make.

A manufacturing ERP replaces that guesswork with one live record: demand drives the production plan, the plan drives purchasing, and every material issue and finished good posts to stock and to the ledger automatically.

Challenges

Common challenges we solve

The problems we hear most from manufacturing teams.

Problem 01

Material shortages halt the line

Without a live bill-of-materials explosion, purchasing orders by gut feel and production stops waiting for a missing component.

Problem 02

Costs are known only at month-end

Raw material, labour and overhead are reconciled after the fact, so pricing decisions are made on estimates.

Problem 03

Poor batch and lot traceability

When a customer complains, finding which raw-material lot went into which batch takes days of digging through paper.

Problem 04

Quality checks live on paper

Inspection results are not tied to the work order, so defects repeat and audits are painful.

Problem 05

Planning ignores real capacity

Schedules are built without machine or shift capacity, so promised delivery dates keep slipping.

Modules

Modules we configure

Standard modules tuned for manufacturing. Custom modules are added where your process needs them.

Module 01

Bills of materials & routings

Multi-level BOMs, alternative components, by-products and work-centre routings with standard times.

Module 02

MRP & production planning

Demand-driven planning that turns sales orders and forecasts into manufacturing and purchase orders.

Module 03

Work orders & shop floor

Tablet-friendly work orders with material consumption, time tracking and scrap reporting per operation.

Module 04

Quality control

Inspection points on receipts, in-process and finished goods with pass/fail rules and non-conformance records.

Module 05

Inventory & lot tracking

Multi-warehouse stock, barcode scanning, lots and expiry dates with forward and backward traceability.

Module 06

Costing & accounting

Actual and standard costing, landed cost and WIP valuation posting straight to the general ledger.

Oman

Oman-specific requirements

Local rules and realities built into the system, not bolted on.

  • Costing and pricing in OMR with three decimal places (1 OMR = 1,000 baisa) and correct rounding on invoices.

  • Oman VAT at 5% on domestic sales, with zero-rated export handling and filing-ready reports.

  • Set-up for tenants in Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) zones such as Rusayl and Sohar, including multi-plant reporting.

  • Bilingual delivery notes, invoices and labels in Arabic and English for local and export customers.

Platform

Which platform fits manufacturing?

We implement all three and recommend honestly.

Recommended

Odoo

Best when you want a polished, app-rich system: the Manufacturing, Inventory, Quality and Purchase apps work together out of the box, and it scales from one plant to several.

Odoo in Oman
Option

ERPNext

Best for cost-sensitive plants that want full manufacturing functionality with no per-user licence — a strong fit for make-to-order and light assembly.

Option

Custom ERP

Best when your process is genuinely unusual — special batch recipes, machine integration or a proprietary planning rule — that no packaged ERP models well.

Custom ERP

Our viewOdoo is usually the best starting point for manufacturing, with custom modules added only where a process needs them.

Workflow

How the workflow runs

From first transaction to reporting, in one connected system.

  1. Step 01

    Map the product structure

We capture your products, BOMs, routings and work centres and load them into the system.

  2. Step 02

    Connect purchasing and stock

Reorder rules, supplier lead times and warehouse locations are configured so shortages surface early.

  3. Step 03

    Run production on the floor

Operators issue materials, record time and log quality on tablets or scanners.

  4. Step 04

    Close the loop on cost

Actual cost per batch flows to finance so margins are visible while there is still time to act.

KPIs

KPIs you can track from day one

  • On-time production order completion
  • Scrap and rework rate
  • Inventory turns and days on hand
  • Actual versus standard cost variance
  • Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

Ask on WhatsApp
Which ERP is best for a small factory in Oman?

For most small factories Odoo or ERPNext is the right start: both include bills of materials, MRP and inventory without a custom build. We recommend after a short discovery session, based on your processes and budget rather than a fixed preference.

Can the ERP handle multi-level BOMs and by-products?

Yes. Both Odoo and ERPNext support multi-level bills of materials, alternative components, by-products and co-products, and we configure them to match your recipes.

Does it work with barcode scanners and tablets on the shop floor?

Yes. Warehouse and work-order screens are usable on tablets, and barcode or QR scanners can be used for receipts, transfers and material issues.

How long does a manufacturing ERP implementation take?

A single-plant rollout with standard flows typically takes around 8 to 16 weeks. Complex routings, machine integration or heavy data migration extend that, so we phase go-live by module.

Can it integrate with our existing accounting or machines?

Yes. We build REST and file-based integrations to legacy accounting packages, PLC or machine data collectors and government portals where an interface is available.
